A customer in Yelvertoft, Northamptonshire needed a new spare key for their Skoda Citigo. We came out to the village and had a fully programmed spare key in their hands within the hour.
The Job
The Skoda Citigo shares its VAG platform with the Volkswagen Up! and SEAT Mii, and uses a VAG ID48 transponder embedded in a flip-key head. Adding a spare key requires programming the new transponder to the car's immobiliser while keeping the existing key active — a job that requires specialist VAG-compatible equipment.
We cut the new blade on-site to match the existing key and programmed the transponder using our VAG tools. Two working keys — both tested in the ignition before we left.
