A customer in Southam, Warwickshire needed a spare key for their Vauxhall Zafira 2016. A versatile and practical family car, but like many used Vauxhalls it arrived with a single key. We attended at the customer's home and had a fully working spare cut and programmed on the spot.
The Job
The 2016 Vauxhall Zafira uses a PCF7937 transponder in a flip-key format. Programming a new key requires connecting to the BCM via the OBD port and synchronising the transponder to the immobiliser — without affecting the original key. We carry Vauxhall/Opel-compatible diagnostic tools and the correct blanks.
Both keys were tested — locking, unlocking, engine start — before leaving the customer.
Why a Spare Key for a Family Car Matters
A Zafira is typically the car that gets used every day — school runs, shopping, work. Running it on a single key is a risk most families don't think about until it goes wrong. If that key is lost or the battery fails at the wrong moment, you're stuck. A spare programmed today costs a fraction of an emergency all-keys-lost call-out and gives you immediate peace of mind.
