Renault uses an unusual range of key types including the iconic "card key" (Megane Mk2), standard transponder flip keys (Clio Mk3/Mk4) and proximity smart keys on current models. Older models use ID46 chips; the card key system uses a specific Renault immobiliser card with RFID transponder.
